Brøndby Stadium, Copenhagen

"There were more pluses than minuses."

Denmark - Christian Eriksen 18'
Germany - Joshua Kimmich 88'

With six players making their debuts, Jogi is mainly satisfied with his team's performance, particularly in view of their solitary training session together.

"It was a good test against an experienced and well-organised team. I was very happy with my team. They showed a lot of commitment. The players didn't have any training or competitive rhythm.
We shouldn't have conceded the way we did, but the reaction was good. We didn't get nervous and controlled the game. We possess individual quality. It surprised me how well we came back. The team worked well together, better than we had expected. We have a good platform on which we can build in the next few weeks."

Löw sees more positives than negatives after Denmark draw

Löw told reporters.
"It was a good test of where we are. We only had one training session, so I am very happy.
"The commitment levels from everyone was very good, we can work on coordination in the coming days."
Löw: "There were more pluses than minuses"
Jogi confirmed that Julian Draxler, captain for the night, will be skipper when he plays. He may however be rested on occasions, in which case Shkodran Mustafi will take over. On Julian he said "He drove the team forward. He took responsibility and played well. He still needs to grow into this role a little bit. That's a process which takes a long time. It's a good experience for him."

Talking of his debutees, Jogi said "The three players who came on all found their feet relatively quickly. They did well. Kevin Trapp made two or three saves. Sandro Wagner worked hard and always occupied two opponents. Lars Stindl played well in between the lines and made it hard for the Danes to pick him up."

The national team will travel to the upcoming Confederations Cup in Russia with the same squad that faced Denmark on Tuesday and will play against San Marino this coming Saturday. "I assume that all my players are fit for the tournament," told national team coach Joachim Löw following the 1-1 draw with Denmark in Copenhagen. Timo Werner should be back with the team on Thursday after recovering from stomach flu and should be involved in the World Cup qualifier against San Marino in Nuremberg on Saturday - from - 7 June 2017

Abschlusstraining in Kopenhagen

Press Conference, Brøndby, 5 June 2017, with Shkodran Mustafi

Arriving in Denmark with only one day's preparation ahead of them before their match again the Danes, Joachim Löw looked relaxed and happy as he faced the media for his first press conference of the summer, accompanied by Shkodran Mustafi. Jogi described the match against Denmark as a "Kaltstart".

Germany boss Joachim Löw ready to pick new faces against Denmark

"We're starting from scratch. The team will use the matches against Denmark and San Marino to get to know each other ahead of the Confederations Cup.
"The Confederations Cup will help us gain this squad some international experience."
Löw undecided on Germany captaincy
"I have not dealt with the question yet," Low told reporters on Monday. "We also have other people who already take on management tasks at their clubs.
"Of course, I will try to pass on my experience and help the young players. There are no unknown faces for me. I am happy about anyone who gets a chance here - this is an exciting time.
"Mustafi was not used very often due to the fact that Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng often played in the tournaments. I believe he is doing well with our young and inexperienced team, because he can also take on management tasks.
"We have two to three players who already have more tournament experience: Mustafi, Julian Draxler and Emre Can. I think it will become clear, who will also take on the field leadership tasks during the Confederations Cup.
"It should be that all players who are involved are given as much time as possible. I would like to bring different players from the beginning depending on the situation in the games at the Confederations Cup. You will then see which young players have the ability to take responsibility."
Points from press conference:
- Denmark are a strong team with many players playing for big clubs such as Ajax of Amsterdam. "We know Denmark will be focused on the game. For us it will be a surprise, as we have a new team and only one training session. We will definitely learn from the game."
- Players can learn from playing in the Confederations Cup and develop in the year leading up to the World Cup. He cited Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger as examples from the 2005 tournament.
