Mission accomplished for Germany's Löw
"I'm happy about the game, we spent the whole whole week preparing well and the result is very pleasing, of course," said Löw."The team played with discipline and deserved to get the berth at the finals."10-man Germany win Group Four
"I don't know whether it was a penalty on Arshavin but anyway I think it was the right decision by the referee," added Löw."The red card for Boateng was also justified."
"The team did well: we needed a bit of luck, but we have made sure of qualifying for the World Cup and you can't ask for more," beamed Löw.

Press Conference, Moscow, 9 October 2009
At the pre-match press conference in Moscow, Jogi spoke of the 'slightest thing' having an effect on a game such as this.
"I have a clear concept but I won't disclose it in detail." he said. "We don't necessarily have to win the match and thus we dont have to risk too much. We also have the chance to directly qualify in case of a tie. This is also important in terms of tactics."
He will wait until final practice to name his final formation and said that there were no injury worries. More from the press conference on dfb.de

Germany starts to feel the heat in Russia
"I feel that the game will be very tense," Löw said Friday. "We've felt this tension more as the game approaches. We have done everything to prepare as well as possible for the game."
Löw, whose side trained on an artificial pitch in Mainz before flying to Moscow, believes the surface should not be a decisive factor."At first, it was a surprise how difficult the surface was to play on," he said, before adding that the team had adapted quickly. "We've thought about how best to play on such a turf and the importance of passing to feet. The players need to be fully concentrated and controlling the possession of the ball so that we can dictate the game ourselves."

Germany worried about genius Arshavin - from justarsenal.com - 8 October 2009
"He's a genius and has an unbelievable efficiency. We must stay wide awake and never let him get away."
"We know that our chance is in Moscow and we want to take it," Löw said. "Russia had an excellent Euro 2008 and have been performing well since then. They haven't won all their games convincingly but they've always got the necessary points."
Löw's job safe
German coach Joachim Löw need not fear for his job even if Germany fail to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa, federation chairman Theo Zwanziger has said.
Speaking at the press conference in Mainz before leaving for Moscow, Jogi said "Russia have played an excellent Euro tournament and since then they have always shown a strong performance. Although they did not win all matches on home soil convincingly, they always gained the necessary points". He said that the German team were well aware of their chance and wanted to take advantage of the situation, adding that they had prepared well for the artificial surface that awaited them in the Luzhniki Stadium - from dfb.de - 6 October 2009
