Assistant Coach Thomas Schneider

The former Stuttgart coach and player will take his place alongside Joachim Lw on the touchline for the first time in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland in Warsaw on 11 October 2014.

His first training session with the squad, 7 October 2014:

Thomas Schneider named Assist - 2 September 2014

"The task of working with the national team will be a big challenge for me," said Schneider. "I feel honoured that the DFB and Joachim Lw have put their faith in me. Im delighted to be able to work for German football in this role. I know Joachim Lw from my time as a player at Stuttgart. Even back then I noticed that we think about football in a similar way and weve kept in touch over the years. Im sure well complement each other very well and will work well together. The same goes for Oliver Bierhoff and Andreas Kpke."
Lw said of his new assistant: "Thomas is a very good fit for us. Im 100 per cent convinced by his abilities as a coach and by his personal qualities. Im very much looking forward to working with him, hell be a wonderful addition to our team."
Thomas's most famous (or should that be notorious) moment at Stuttgart involving his coach, however, could be said to be the shaving off of his coach's hair following the DFB-Pokal win in 1997!
