Nationalteam ohne Löw zur Formel 1 nach Monaco
Twenty-five players from the German squad flew into Monaco on Sunday to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix. No day off however for Bundestrainer Joachim Löw who remained back at the Tourettes base. Also staying behind were Mats Hummels and Mario Götze, who had sustained minor knocks in Saturday's match against Switzerland.

Löw: "Wir müssen nur noch ein paar Rädchen drehen"
Jogi talks of the difficult decision in choosing the four players to send home and looks ahead to the upcoming friendly against Israel. He says the mood is good in the camp, and all that is needed is a little fine tuning!

Germany captain Lahm's position still open, says Löw
"Against Israel Philipp will start on the left because I want to try something out but it means nothing as to how we will play against Portugal (on June 9) in the first Group game," Löw told a news conference in southern France.
"The decision on (where he will play at the Euros) will be taken next week," he said.
(on the central defensive partnership) "It may not have worked 100 percent in the co-ordination between (Mertesacker and Hummels) but the two can work outstandingly together," said Löw.
"All three play at a very good level as central defenders at the highest level internationally. We are in a position where they all fit well together, no matter who plays."
Löw tips Schweinsteiger to shine
"I do not know (if he will play) yet, (against Israel on Thursday)" the coach told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
"He has a hematoma in the calf and this makes things difficult for him. Therefore, we must minimise the risk.He is not always training with the team, as you have to see how far he can go and how well he can deal with the pain. But he will have the necessary physical strength and power for the tournament."
(on the players leaving the squad)  They were all obviously incredibly disappointed," he said.
"But we made our decision after much consideration, and we wanted to give players clarity on Monday, because you could feel their uncertainty.
These are very young players. I told everyone that they have opened the door wide for themselves. Draxler, the youngest of the group, is a real winner from this camp. For us it is clear that these players are on the fringe of the squad, and will probably soon be with the national team."

Löws Fazit der Vorbereitung: "Zeit optimal genutzt"
Jogi reviews the training camps in Sardinia and Southern France, and talks of moving on to Poland and the friendly against Israel on Thursday.

"Die Kabinenansprache vor dem Spiel? Überbewertet"
A lovely interview with Jogi from the website. He talks about what will happen in the minutes before the first match against Portugal on 9 June, the right amount of vanity and the best compliment he was paid by a woman!

Jogi: Ich will nichts mehr vom Finale hören!
And puts eight hypothetical statements to Jogi - and asks for his comments in reply!

The team flew back to Germany this evening for their friendly against Israel.
