As competition for the Champions League places hotted up in Germany, Joachim Löw witnessed a superb performance from Bayer Leverkusen, in particular Julian Brandt, as they defeated Leipzig 4-1 in Monday night's Bundesliga game, 9 April 2018

Joachim Löw was at the Hoffenheim v Hamburg Bundesliga game at the weekend, 14 April 2018, where he saw the home side come out 2-0 victors.

One of the Hoffenheim goals was scored by Serge Gnabry causing Bild to report that Jogi left the stadium once the player had been substituted.

Jogi takes pride-of-place on the front cover of the 70th anniversary issue of Bunte - with a cover photoshopped, it would appear, to symbolise the best in German, US and British royalty!  Click on the photograph, right, for a larger version.

German chancellor Dr Angela Merkel invited a delegation from the German Football Association - including president Reinhard Grindel and general secretary Dr Friedrich Curtius - to a dinner at the Chancellor's office in Berlin yesterday evening, 16 April 2018.
Also present was the German men's national team's entire sports administration, including head coach Joachim Löw, manager Oliver Bierhoff and goalkeeping coach Andreas Köpke, as well as assistant coaches Thomas Schneider and Marcus Sorg. The DFB representatives presented the Chancellor with a signed Germany shirt at the beginning of the event. - from

At a sunny Westfalenstadion, Joachim Löw saw a commanding performance from the home side as they came out 4-0 winners and the two sides swopped third and fourth place in the Bundesliga.

Champions League Semi-Final, 1st Leg

Joachim Löw was at the Allianz Arena for the first leg of the Champions League Semi-Final between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. After Joshua Kimmich had put the German side ahead, Real pulled the game back to win 2-1, 25 April 2018

In an interview with Sky Deutschland before the game, Jogi said that although Manuel Neuer had a little catching up to do, he was fully planning on the Bayern keeper being at the World Cup training camp. "We are in constant contact, he is training with the team and his foot is showing no reaction" he added.

Speaking of Sven Ulreich, who has deputised for Neuer this season in goal for Bayern, Jogi stated "He has played well this season, but there is no reason to change anything. There have been no problems with our other goalkeepers."

Stindl picks up ankle injury - 29 April 2018
Elsewhere on Match Day 21 there was further bad news for the national team on the injury front with Lars Stindl sustaining an ankle injury which rules him out of the World Cup.
